William Marris

William and Judith Marris lived in Sotby with their 6 Servants.  In 1841 there was no mention of the size of the farms/properties as in later Census returns so we assume he had large acreage to account for all the servants.

William Marris and Judith Dudding received a License and married on 10 May 1817.William was 40 and Judith was 30.  They married at Holy Trinity, Hull.  William was from Wickenby, Lincolnshire and Judith was from Hull, Yorkshire.  I have only been able to find 3 children as of today.

Robert Dudding baptised 20 Novmeber 1818 (Wickenby)
John baptised 27 August 1920 (Kirmond)
Eliza baptised 23 December 1821 (Kirmond)

Of the 6 servants, at this point I have only been able to trace 2.  I thought with a surname like Meanwell or christian name like Marrice it would be easier.

Joseph Slight was baptised 10 January 1820 (Wilsford) By 1851 he was back home in Wilsford with his parents - John & Ann

Henry Cross was baptised 7 July 1825 (Theddlethorpe)  In 1851 Henry had his own 26 acre farm in Carlby, Lincolnshire.
