Thomas and his wife Frances (Bett) lived next door to his sister Elizabeth. Their brother John is also living Sotby. Thomas was born in Sotby and baptised November 28, 1780. Frances was baptised on 6 May 1787 in Benniworth, Lincolnshire. I have been unable to find any record of the couple having children.
Their female servant Mary Ann Aistrop was 20 and baptised 29 October 1815 in Aylesby, Lincolnshire. The male servant James Todd was also 20. There are many, many James Todds and I have no real way of knowing which is the right one.
In 1851, Thomas and Frances had 85 acres to farm. On Census night they had a 5 year old visitor named Mary Williamett. Mary is the daughter of Mary Ann Aistrop, their servant from 10 years ago who is now married with 3 children (including Mary) and living in Great Sturton. Also here are, Asenath Gowshall and William Tear. William was baptised in Belchford, Lincolnshire on 16 September 1832. His younger brother Joseph is working for the Drewery family down the road. Asenath was of course the daughter of their neighbours, William and Elizabeth Gowshall.
In the decade between the Census returns, Asenath Gowshall has married John Roberts (1853 in Sotby) and in 1856 Thomas died and was buried 11 October aged 75.
In 1861 the only Scholey in the parish is Edward who was the son of John.
Frances died in 1863 and was buried in Donington on Bain 18 July aged 76
